So we've had a busy and eventful weekend. Friday night was YAMS....good times, good people, and VERY good food (thanks Brian). I was pleasantly surprised that Eve and David went night night at another house in the SAME room without waking each other. Miraculous!! I'm hoping that David gets a little better about sleeping ALL THE WAY through the night before Sarah gets here since he and Eve will be roomies until Sarah is a better sleeper. Pray for us!!
Saturday, my parents came to watch the kids for us as our place. It was SOOO nice to be able to just leave and come home....no packing kids, transporting, picking up kids from a dead sleep, and transplanting into their own beds. So nice. Jesse and I went to Panera's and then to a new Life Group we wanted to try out. I LOVE the people and want to keep going, but I don't think I can because the lady whose house it is at has a dog.....and I'm pretty sure I had a bad allergic reaction. So........thus our search for a life group continues. But that shouldn't be a problem. They have so many at KPC. It's just a matter of finding one that's kid friendly and allergen friendly.
This morning we went to church and our friends Joe and Lindee came as guests and LOVED it. So now we have some instant friends there....some good pew buddies. Maybe we can pass notes. haha. When we went to pick up Eve, she had a little battle scar. She fell with a toy in her mouth and her upper lip was a bit swollen. Poor thing. She recovered pretty quickly after they gave her ice....she liked eating the ice mostly. Distractions are the best for two year olds.
So then we went to have lunch and just chill at my parent's house. Eve loves her NeNe and BawBaw. David even napped over there. Another miracle. Later we headed over to Joe and Lindee's house for some evening soup and Rock band. Eve only got spanked like four times for jumping on little Joey's bed, but other than that, great time! Lindee made this really awesome Tortilla soup that I will be requesting the recipe for.
In other news:
1. The other day Eve came up to me, put her hand on my chin and said, "Listen to me, I want to watch Bible man, okay?" Where did she get that from?? Hmmm....
2. David has started pulling up on things by himself. Scary. Only one battle scar so far. All that remains is a faded scratch on his left cheek.
3. I have a HUGE respect for anyone who has potty trained a child. My patience is running thin...... At least our carpets are getting cleaned soon.
4. Sarah is making herself known.....my belly is constantly moving. If you ever see me staring at my belly, I'm just watching for my little alien.
So.....not much else I can think of. I should take notes more often because whenever I go to blog, my mind goes blank. Our life is like a comic strip.....stuff is ALWAYS happening that makes me almost pee my pants or want to scream. It's the peaceful moments like this that make me forget all the crazy parts of the day. When you are a mom, you learn to detach your mommy brain when the kids are asleep and for a moment...life is peaceful. Almost as it was before we had kids. Man! That time seems so far off in the past. I'm so glad Jesse and I are doing this while we're still young. I don't recommend waiting til you're 30 to start having babies. But hey....if you're one of those people who decided to wait or for whatever reason could not have a child until you were in your 30's I am not going to judge.
But...I will say this. When you are still waking up in the middle of the night with your infant and trying to potty train a toddler or two, I will be sleeping soundly and thinking of ways to wake my children up in the morning. Ah!!! That will be nice! I can always dream, right?
