So we've had a busy and eventful weekend. Friday night was YAMS....good times, good people, and VERY good food (thanks Brian). I was pleasantly surprised that Eve and David went night night at another house in the SAME room without waking each other. Miraculous!! I'm hoping that David gets a little better about sleeping ALL THE WAY through the night before Sarah gets here since he and Eve will be roomies until Sarah is a better sleeper. Pray for us!!
Saturday, my parents came to watch the kids for us as our place. It was SOOO nice to be able to just leave and come home....no packing kids, transporting, picking up kids from a dead sleep, and transplanting into their own beds. So nice. Jesse and I went to Panera's and then to a new Life Group we wanted to try out. I LOVE the people and want to keep going, but I don't think I can because the lady whose house it is at has a dog.....and I'm pretty sure I had a bad allergic reaction. So........thus our search for a life group continues. But that shouldn't be a problem. They have so many at KPC. It's just a matter of finding one that's kid friendly and allergen friendly.
This morning we went to church and our friends Joe and Lindee came as guests and LOVED it. So now we have some instant friends there....some good pew buddies. Maybe we can pass notes. haha. When we went to pick up Eve, she had a little battle scar. She fell with a toy in her mouth and her upper lip was a bit swollen. Poor thing. She recovered pretty quickly after they gave her ice....she liked eating the ice mostly. Distractions are the best for two year olds.
So then we went to have lunch and just chill at my parent's house. Eve loves her NeNe and BawBaw. David even napped over there. Another miracle. Later we headed over to Joe and Lindee's house for some evening soup and Rock band. Eve only got spanked like four times for jumping on little Joey's bed, but other than that, great time! Lindee made this really awesome Tortilla soup that I will be requesting the recipe for.
In other news:
1. The other day Eve came up to me, put her hand on my chin and said, "Listen to me, I want to watch Bible man, okay?" Where did she get that from?? Hmmm....
2. David has started pulling up on things by himself. Scary. Only one battle scar so far. All that remains is a faded scratch on his left cheek.
3. I have a HUGE respect for anyone who has potty trained a child. My patience is running thin...... At least our carpets are getting cleaned soon.
4. Sarah is making herself known.....my belly is constantly moving. If you ever see me staring at my belly, I'm just watching for my little alien.
So.....not much else I can think of. I should take notes more often because whenever I go to blog, my mind goes blank. Our life is like a comic strip.....stuff is ALWAYS happening that makes me almost pee my pants or want to scream. It's the peaceful moments like this that make me forget all the crazy parts of the day. When you are a mom, you learn to detach your mommy brain when the kids are asleep and for a moment...life is peaceful. Almost as it was before we had kids. Man! That time seems so far off in the past. I'm so glad Jesse and I are doing this while we're still young. I don't recommend waiting til you're 30 to start having babies. But hey....if you're one of those people who decided to wait or for whatever reason could not have a child until you were in your 30's I am not going to judge.
But...I will say this. When you are still waking up in the middle of the night with your infant and trying to potty train a toddler or two, I will be sleeping soundly and thinking of ways to wake my children up in the morning. Ah!!! That will be nice! I can always dream, right?

Etsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie....
Ok, so I FINALLY set up a shop on etsy. You can check it out at christincherie.etsy.com. I only have two items posted because it took me FOREVER, but I will post more soon. I think having my own little shop online will motivate me to make more jewelry. If you're looking for the perfect gift for your little girl....I've got it!! I'm also going to put some jewelry for adults, so look out for that too. Well, goodnight everyone!! I'm sleepy...........

Hiney-O's??
So today I was changing David's diaper after he just ate a whole bunch of Cheerios...well, let's just say that a few of them got into his diaper somehow and fell out while I was changing him. But!! Not to worry!!! Eve was there for "clean up." Before I could say, "get the Hoover" my little Eve Rene was already chowing down on one. Mmmmmmm.....Hiney-O's!!

Sugar and spice and everything nice....
That's what give you high blood sugar apparently!! haha. I failed my 1 hour glucose screening this morning. 2 prior pregnancies and never a high reading until this one. My sugar was 142 and it was supposed to be under 136, so it wasn't too high. I have to go in next Mon for a 3 hour test to rule out gestational diabetes. I'm pretty hopeful that I DON'T have it.

Harvest Party 09 Run Down
Not much to say! Had lots of fun. Lots of cute costumes! Eve got 1st place and David got 2nd place in their age group, so I was a super proud mama. Their costumes turned out adorable thanks to a little ingenuity and a handy dandy hot glue gun. If you can't tell by the pictures, Jesse was Goliath and David was....David and I was was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and Eve was.....you guessed it! Eve! Also too cute not the mention were Chloe as the Queen of Hearts and Emma as a ladybug. Here's a photo collage for your viewing enjoyment!

Huh? Who call my name?!!
While Jesse and I were in the ER with David night before last, we were lucky enough to be next door to a man who had a little gas problem.....and wasn't modest about it!!
We were sitting in silence when....
PPHHHhhhhtt!!!....huh?
We died!!! Who does that? Who passes gas and then says, huh? Apparently this guy.
10 minutes later.....
Herrrrrrrrrph!!!....Who call my name?!!!
Rolling on the hospital bed trying not to snort!!!! That's a line I'll definitely use in the future. Too funny!!

Warning: Spoiler alert!! Halloween costume preview!!
That's my little David boy dressed as....well David!! He's dressed as David the shepherd boy version. He'll also be toting a stuffed lion which he killed with his bare hands of course. And you can't forget the slingshot.....man! So many crafty things to do!! I love it!!! If you haven't ever made one of your kids' costumes, I highly recommend trying. It's so much more special to see them wear something that you constructed rather than an overpriced store-bought number. (Although they are cute too!)

I swear this boy smiles CONSTANTLY!!! I love him!!!

And here's my spunky little Eve Rene. No, she's not a woodland fairy, rather she is "Eve", the first woman. Although this costume may not be completely historically accurate, it's a good combination of fig leaf covering and girly girl cuteness. Notice the pomegranate detailing ;o) I just love tutu's, so any excuse to get her into one is good for me!! Oh, and I also made her a pomegranate candy bag out of left over red and green felt from last year's strawberry costume.

Here's a little review of the past two years of Halloween fun!
Eve and I at the 2007 Harvest Party. Eve is Dorothy and I am Glenda from the Wizard of Oz. I made my crown and wand and also Eve's pigtail headband. I always have to add something handmade into the mix or else costumes just aren't as fun!

Harvest Party 2008- We went with a "Harvest" theme. Farmer Jesse with his "crop". Eve made the most precious little strawberry ever!! I hand made both of our costumes which was super fun (and cheap). I used a t-shirt sleeve from my costume to make her strawberry had as well as "Yeow's" (Eve's kitty cat) matching costume. Can't forget Yeowser!! (his other name).
Yeowser in the flesh
And you can't forget the appearances made my Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin. They took first place in the adult costume category. Together of course.
