A little quiet time bloggin'

Good news guys! Jesse got another job interview FINALLY!! All these job apps with no call backs has been quite discouraging, it's just nice to hear SOMEthing back from someone. And this job is a good one. I really hope he gets it. Please pray. The interview is Oct 29th and it's for a Child Protective Services worker with the City of Portsmouth. It's right up Jesse's alley being that he's super protective of his own kids and has worked in the mental health field for the past 6 years. The children of Portsmouth would be in good hands with the Jess man working for them.

And lately, I've been trying to take more of the initiative to get together with other people....yes, those other than myself, the kids, and Jesse. It's been nice. Yesterday was highlighted by a trip to our city's most esteemed mound of trash....Mt. Trashmore. It's actually a nice park that used to a be a landfill, so don't get all grossed out if you're not familiar with the area ;o) Me and the kiddos met my friend Lindee, her hubby, and two chillins up there for a picnic lunch and playtime for the kids. Eve and David passed out afterward which was super nice of them since I was about to die of a heat stroke. It was HOT HOT HOT outside yesterday, but so nice!! Loved it. So I guess my point was that I'm trying to get out more. Yay for not being a hermit mommy!!

Oh, I forgot to tell about our most recent trip to BJ's wholesale club......our damage you ask?? Over $350!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me??? I was like HOLY COW!!!! All we got was food and other basic necessities like toilet paper, Tylenol, Metamucil (You know, us preggers need that stuff), laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, baby wipes etc.... All stuff we needed, but DANG!!!! That's a lot of money for some po folks like us. At least we'll have full tummies for a while. Last night I made dinner......Parmesan and breadcrumb crusted Italian dressing chicken with garlic asparagus. Healthy and tasty and didn't cost $30 at a restaurant. Nice.

David just recently started babbling and saying "da da da da da da!!" It's so cute!! He's got this soft high pitch voice that sounds OH so girlish, but I guess all babies sound the same when they first start talking. And on his 8 month b-day he got up on all fours by himself for the first time!! He's going to be crawling in no time. Better make sure we're David-proof really soon!!

And the other night Miss Eve Rene was put to bed and decided that she had "slept good" after about 20 min. She proceeded to get out of her bed with all her kitties in hand, she managed to get out of her room despite the child proof door knob cover, and was at the top of the stairs holding said cats in a matter of seconds. My heart skipped a beat when I heard thumping in the upstairs hallway and I almost died when I saw her at the stop of the stairs. She could have fell down those stairs so easily holding all those stuffed cats!!! I'm glad my mommy reflexes are like that of a ninja because I was up those stairs and scooped her up before she could take the first step down the stairs. We are now officially closing the gate at the top of the stairs at night for our peace of mind. The only way I can think that she got out is that Jesse didn't shut her door all the way when he put her to bed. Scary. Cute, but that is NOT happening again.

Ok, I think that about sums it all up!! Happy Birthday Teresa!!

One good day deserves another!

So I've had two pretty good days in a row. Yesterday I got some girl time without kids thanks to the hubby allowing me to go hang out with Katy and Mo for a while. We did pedicure and ate peanut butter cookies and can I say it was MUCH needed! Especially the cookies ;o) I always love hanging out with the twins. And yes, they really are twins....dork twins as they call themselves (although they are anything but dorks). It's pretty hilarious actually. They act the same, dress the same, have the same minivans (same make/model/color) just different year. And get this...while doing their pedicures and shaving their feet, they even cut themselves in the same spot on their feet. Yeah...that's what I said. WEIRD!!!! haha.

Today I invited Tiffany and her kiddos over to play. David and Aubri actually took a nap in the same room and Eve went down for an early nap so it was just Tiffany, Chloe (who was refusing to nap) and I for a while. Kinda nice.

I definitely need to get out there more often with people and hang out. I have been somewhat of a recluse other than going over to my mom's house and I'm sure she needs a break from me and the kids too.

Tonight is Young Adults and Nanny is watching the kids because of David's rash thing and so we can actually enjoy the meeting. It's hard to engage in a deep discussion with an 8 month old and a two year old in the mix. Especially when YAM goes about 2 hours past both of their bedtimes.

Right now Eve and I are still in our jammies. Jesse has been gone all but about a half hour today so I haven't gotten a shower as of yet. That's ok. There's no shame is bummin' every once in a while. At least Tiffany didn't mind! Eve has her tutu, backpack, necklace, bracelet, and shoes on dancing to the wiggles as we speak. She's so cute. Hyper, but cute. Gotta love her. She was just talking with my Nanny on the phone who she calls "Nay Nay" and hung up on her despite me telling her not to. The girl just can't resist closing a slide phone. Cheap thrill I guess. haha.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired....

I'm starting to get a feel for what it's like having multiple children who are sick....it pretty much stinks!!! I figured I'd just get on here and rant a bit because it always makes me feel better to blog about stuff that's irritating me. I feel so bad for David right now with his little bumps. The docs say it's just from a virus and to basically treat him like he has chicken pox (even though he doesn't). The doc he saw had other docs come in to look at it and they even wanted him to wear a mask out of the office as not to infect the other kids....funny. Jesse said that didn't work out too well. Eve is pretty much better and so am I, but dang!! This tiredness I am feeling is getting old. Yes, I know I'm pregnant and a certain degree of fatigue is expected, but I thought I was supposed to get some of my energy back during the 2nd trimester.

MOPS yesterday was nice. It was nice to see so many ladies show up and enjoy each other's company. We brought in old pictures (mostly baby/child pics) of ourselves to see if others could guess who was who. It was fun to use my facial identification skills to try to ID people. I would have never guessed Katy if I didn't grow up with her and know her as a child!! And Tiffany was sitting right next to me and let me guess her picture totally wrong!! We also had a talent showcase which was very entertaining. Tons of talented ladies who shared their gifts/talents/hobbies and I'm sure there were a few who were shy, but we'll work on those over the year. I look forward to our next meeting....we're Tie-dying T-shirts for breast cancer awareness month!! I have never done this before, so I'm super exited to learn and represent a great cause.

Oh, and if anyone can tell me where to find good below the belly maternity jeans/pants for super cheap....please tell!! I am about over the whole gangsta sag thing my current jeans like to do. I take two steps...hike them up, two more steps, hike again. Lame pants. I wish I was a maternity fashion designer. I'm definitely going to go "Goodwilling" for some good Liz Lange Target brand maternity pants if I can find them. You can't beat $6.99 for some otherwise brand new pants...but you have to hunt and get lucky to find them!

Well, I feel this rant coming to an end. Plus I have to go pee. Dang coffee!! Can't live with it, can't live without it ;o)

Back on the bloggin' wagon

Ok, I'm back after a very long absence. I can't exactly say why...maybe it's a combination of vacation, vacation recovery, husband sickness, self sickness, and Eve Rene sickness, antibiotics....you get the picture.

So in the last month I managed to turn 28 years old. I guess I'm doing pretty good to already be on child #3 by 28. I always said I wanted to have all my kids by 30, so I just might accomplish that goal!! I just need to get back on this dissertation bandwagon too so I can finish school. It's sooooo hard with these two kids to muster up the motivation to lock myself in the bedroom or work on super boring literature review stuff after the kids go to bed when I am already exhausted from the day and this pregnancy.

Jesse's job hunt continues. So frustrating. It's a very long waiting game just to hear back from places. So far only one return call from a potential employer which culminated in a good interview, but no job offer. I don't get it because my husband is well qualified to do a number of jobs, but either the jobs aren't available due to hiring freeze or he never gets contacted. Mind you, he has followed up with each place numerous occasions with the "You'll get a call if you qualify" or "Don't call us, we'll call you" routine. So let me just get this out.....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok, back to my birthday. It was nice. Just family, food, and chocolate lasagna!! Mmmmm.... Here is a list of the goods I got:

Birthday breakfast from the hubby
My 1st Vera Bradley purse from Jesse (the diaper bag does not constitute a purse)
Hollister perfume so I can smell like Katy
Lots of cash & checks (Thanks Mom, Nanny, Granny, & JuJu)
Birthday dinner & visit from JuJu
Avon perfume (Abssynthe)
Cool sweaters from Mom
Some makeup
A Book from Maurie & Opher with some Soccer Mom family stickers for the Van ;o)
A card from Sterling
3 more Vera Bradley purses plus a matching wallet purchased post b-day with b-day $$$$
Dress from Target for $6.25 plus a lovely brown cardigan also purchased with b-day $$$$
Some chocolate covered Starbucks coffee beans from Sherry. Made my Sunday morning!

I think I covered everything. If I left anything out, sorry!! I loved everything. Thanks for all the b-day wishes too.

Oh, cute little story: While Jesse and I were on our date night this last Sat, my mom got out one of my old ballet outfits and Eve LOVED it!! She was dancing around my parent's house like a loon. She wanted to dance the "NeNe" dance several times (this song the Wiggles sing and dance to, don't ask why she calls it the NeNe dance). Anyway, they said they got pics and I will post them when I get them. I guess I always envisioned that if I had a daughter, she would dress up in my old ballet suits....it's just weird that it's happening already. Strange how life flies by and how what brings you happiness changes also. When my kids are happy, I'm happy. They have helped me learn to laugh at so many things I didn't even realize could be funny.

So now that my family and I are done hacking up the green goblins, I hope to post on here more often. Stay tuned ;o)
